Director breakdown after the break:

Bernard MacLaverty is a well know writer, with many works to his name. Bye Child was his first film, which he directed with very little experience apart from a weekend course in ‘directing for a single camera’. For his efforts Bernard received a Scottish BAFTA award for Best First Time Director.

Susan Lynch, who portays the part of the nameless woman in Bye-Child has also appeared in many other productions for TV such as “Bodies” and in features  such as “Elizabeth: The Golden Age”.
